This is probably the easiest banana cake recipe; you don’t need an electric mixer, just basic baking tools. This tried-and-tested banana cake is moist, and full of banana goodness.

Mix butter and caster sugar
Cream the butter and caster sugar (close up)
Cream the butter and caster sugar
Add vanilla extract
Add in eggs one at a time

Mix well

Mashing bananas

With bananas mixed in batter
Baking soda

Sift flour mixture into batter
Fold the flour in gently
Fold the flour in until it disappears
Pour batter into baking tray
Pre-heat oven to 180°C, top and bottom heat. Bake for 50 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean
Slice banana cake and serve
